Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

The EPA can do certain jobs to make sure people follow the rules in this proposed law. You need to know the EPA can take action if they think it is necessary to achieve the purpose of this proposed law. The EPA can take action, help a local authority, or take over an action started by a local authority. The EPA can also take action against a regional council if they think it is necessary. You can look at section 245(1) to see what kind of actions the EPA can take. The EPA must check if a local authority is already taking action before they start their own action. The EPA can work with a local authority if they agree to it. This means the EPA can help the local authority with their action. The EPA can also take over an action if they think it is necessary.
