Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

If new regulations are made under section 310, you need to know what the regional council must do. The regional council has to give public notice that the regulations have been made and say when they come into force. The council also has to amend its natural environment plan to match the new regulations. This must be done without using the usual process in the Planning Act 2025. The council must make these changes by a certain date, or as soon as possible after the regulations start. You should be aware that some rules in the Planning Act 2025 do not apply when a natural environment plan is changed because of new regulations. This is to avoid any confusion about what rules apply when a plan is amended.
