When a permit authority reviews a natural resource permit, you need to know that some rules apply. These rules are like those for applying for a new permit, but with some changes. The permit authority must notify the public and you can make a submission. If you are the permit holder, you can ask to be heard by the permit authority. The authority may also hear from the Minister, who can make a submission or ask to be heard. In some cases, the permit authority does not have to follow all the usual rules for hearing submissions. The permit authority must follow some specific rules when reviewing permit conditions. You can find these rules in sections 152 and 153, and sections 144 to 151, of the relevant legislation. These rules help ensure that the review process is fair and transparent.
