Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

You are part of a group with a special connection to a marine area. The government is making a plan to protect the environment. This plan cannot allow activities that hurt your group's relationship with the marine area. If an activity might hurt your group's relationship, it can still be allowed if you register it first. The plan must clearly say that the activity is subject to special rules. These rules apply even if other laws say something different. The plan is trying to balance protecting the environment with respecting your group's connection to the marine area. You need to know how these rules work to understand the plan. The government is trying to make sure everyone follows the same rules.
