If someone has taken land from the coastal marine area without permission, you can ask for consent to keep that land. You do this by applying under section 130 to the permit authority in charge. They can then give you a coastal permit to keep the land, as if it was still part of the coastal marine area. The rules in Part 4 apply when you make this type of application. You follow these rules when asking for consent to keep land that was taken without permission. This helps the permit authority make a decision about your application. You can apply for this consent at any time, even if the land was taken before this law starts. The permit authority considers your application and decides whether to give you a coastal permit. They look at your application as if the land was still in the coastal marine area.
