236Power to make joint management agreement
A regional council that wants to enter into a joint management agreement must—
- notify the Minister of its wish; and
- satisfy itself—
- that for the purposes of this Act a public authority that is a party to the joint management agreement—
- represents the relevant community of interest; and
- has the technical or special capability or expertise to perform or exercise the function, power, or responsibility jointly with the regional council; and
- represents the relevant community of interest; and
- that a joint management agreement is an efficient method of performing or exercising the function, power, or responsibility; and
- that for the purposes of this Act a public authority that is a party to the joint management agreement—
- include in the joint management agreement details of—
- the resources that will be required for the administration of the agreement; and
- how the administrative costs of the joint management agreement will be met.
- the resources that will be required for the administration of the agreement; and
A regional council that complies with subsection (1) may enter into a joint management agreement.
