This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

You cannot dump waste or other matter from ships, aircraft, or installations in the coastal marine area unless you have a permit. You also cannot burn waste or other matter in marine incineration facilities without a permit. You need a permit to dump ships, aircraft, or installations in the coastal marine area. You are not allowed to dump radioactive waste or matter, or release harmful substances that go against section 24. This rule still applies even if you have a permit for other activities. Permits can allow some activities in the coastal marine area. You must follow these rules to protect the coastal marine area. Permits are required for certain activities to ensure the area is protected. The rules apply to everyone in the coastal marine area.
