You might need this permission to do something in a coastal area that would otherwise be against the law, as stated in sections like section 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, or 24. This permission can also be called a coastal permit, discharge permit, land use permit, or water permit, depending on what you want to do and where you want to do it. You can get a discharge permit to do something outside a coastal area that would otherwise break the law, as stated in section 21. You can get a land use permit to do something outside a coastal area that would otherwise break the law, as stated in section 17 or 19. You can get a water permit to do something outside a coastal area that would otherwise break the law, as stated in section 20. These permits are all types of natural resource permits, which are special permissions to do something that would otherwise be against the law.
