This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

You can get more time to do something if a permit authority or local authority agrees. They can extend a time period even if it has already ended. They can also ignore a mistake you made if you did not follow the rules. If you have to give information and you make a mistake or leave something out, the permit authority or local authority can choose to ignore the mistake. They can also tell you to fix the mistake on certain conditions. This rule is affected by other parts of the proposed law, such as sections 319 and 320. The permit authority or local authority has the power to make these decisions. They can help you if you are having trouble following the rules. This is part of a proposed new law to help look after the natural environment.
