You will be part of an affected protected customary rights group if an activity may harm your protected customary rights. This is when you carry out these rights under Part 3 of the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act 2011. Your group must not have given written approval for the activity, or must have withdrawn approval in writing. You are an affected group if the activity may affect your rights. The activity is in the area where your group has protected customary rights. Your group has not approved the activity in writing, or has taken back its approval. This means your group's rights are protected under the proposed law. The law says what happens if an activity may harm your group's rights. You can find out more about protected customary rights in the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act 2011.
