This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

39: Permitted activity rules

You could also call this:

"Rules for activities that are allowed but need permission or registration"

Illustration for Natural Environment Bill

The proposed law says a permitted activity rule must do one of two things. It must either require an activity to be registered or relate to a matter described in section 169. You will need to follow these rules if you want to do an activity. If you want to do a permitted activity, you must register it with the territorial authority, as described in section 202. You also need to do one or more of the following: get written approval from people who may be affected, get a certificate from a qualified person, pay a fee as described in section 229, or comply with other requirements related to section 169. The rule may also say what information you need to include when you register your activity, as described in section 202. If you get approval from someone, it is valid for three years, unless they withdraw it in writing.
