Illustration for Sentencing Act 2002

When you get a sentence of community work, a probation officer must decide where you will do the work. The probation officer makes this decision based on what is said in sections 62 and 63. They decide whether you will do the community work at a community work centre, with another agency, or at both.

The probation officer can choose to have you do some hours at a community work centre and some hours with another agency. They get to decide how many hours you do at each place. This decision can be made at the start of your sentence or at any other time while you are serving your sentence.
