69: Extension of period within which community work must be done

You could also call this:

"Getting more time to finish community work if you need it"

Illustration for Sentencing Act 2002

If you have to do community work as part of your sentence, you can ask the court to give you more time to finish it. You can do this if you cannot do the work for a while because you are sick or there are other humanitarian reasons. You can also ask for more time if it would be unfair to make you do the work during that time. You need to apply to the court in accordance with section 72 and explain why you need more time. The court can then decide to give you more time to finish your community work if they think it is fair.
