142AAC: Offence to sell or dispose of motor vehicle subject to forfeiture order

If a motor vehicle is subject to a forfeiture order under section 142AAB(3) or a confiscation order under section 142AAE(4), and it has not yet been surrendered or seized, you must not sell or dispose of it. If you sell or dispose of the motor vehicle or any part of it, you commit an offence. You can be fined up to $2,000 if you are convicted of this offence.

142AACOffence to sell or dispose of motor vehicle subject to forfeiture order

  1. This section applies if a motor vehicle—

  2. is subject to a forfeiture order under section 142AAB(3) or a confiscation order under section 142AAE(4); and
    1. has not yet been surrendered to, or seized by, a Registrar, bailiff, or constable.
      1. A person who sells or disposes of the motor vehicle or any part of the motor vehicle commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000.
