If you are serving a home detention sentence and you get hurt while doing work or attending a course, you might be covered under the Accident Compensation Act 2001. This means your injury is treated like a work injury for some parts of the Act. The government will pay you the compensation you are entitled to. You might also get other entitlements under the Accident Compensation Act 2001, and these will be paid from a special account, depending on whether you earn money or not. If you earn money, your entitlements will be paid from the Earners' Account, but if you do not earn money, they will be paid from the Non-Earners' Account.
