80ZGB: Period of suspension not counted towards sentence

You could also call this:

"Suspension time doesn't count towards your home detention sentence"

Illustration for Sentencing Act 2002

If you get a sentence of home detention, there might be a time when it is suspended. This means you do not have to follow the rules of your home detention for a little while. When your home detention is suspended, this time does not count towards the total time you have to stay at home. The rules about suspending home detention are in sections 80ZG(2) and 80ZGA(2) of the Sentencing Act 2002, and the rules about home detention are in section 80A(3). You can find more information about the law that changed this rule in the Administration of Community Sentences and Orders Act 2013. This law was changed on 22 January 2014.
