If you get a non-association order, it usually does not add to another non-association order or sentence you receive at the same time. You will serve the non-association order and the other sentence separately. This means you will not serve them at the same time.

If you are already in detention for a sentence of 24 months or less, and you get a non-association order, you will serve the non-association order after you finish your detention sentence. This is because the non-association order is added to your detention sentence in this case. You can find more information about this by looking at the Crimes Act 1985.

114Cumulative orders and sentences
