The purpose of an electronic monitoring condition is to stop you from breaking rules about where you are, and to check that you are following those rules. This condition can be imposed under section 80C(2)(d). If you have this condition, information about you can be used to check you are following the rules and to detect if you are not. You can be checked to see if you are following detention conditions, and if you are committing offences. Information about you can also be used as evidence if you break the rules or commit offences. Your electronic monitoring equipment will be checked to make sure you have not tampered with it, so it can work correctly and accurately.
