If a court takes away your vehicle because you broke the law, you must not buy or get another vehicle for 12 months. You are not allowed to get any interest in a vehicle during this time. If you do, you can get a fine of up to $500.

If you are found guilty of getting a vehicle when you are not supposed to, the court can take away the new vehicle instead of, or as well as, giving you a fine. The court will follow the same rules as when they took away your first vehicle, which are outlined in section 142AAF and other related sections. This means the court can make decisions about what happens to the new vehicle, based on these rules.
