In this Part of the law, you need to know what some words mean. A financial product has the meaning set out in section 7, and it also includes some other things for certain purposes. These extra things include classes of financial advice products that are declared by regulations to be financial products, and some securities that are used to generate financial benchmarks, like the ones mentioned in section 6(6)(c).

You also need to know that trade means any kind of business, job, or activity that people do to make money. This can include all sorts of things, like running a shop, being a doctor, or working in an office. It is a broad term that covers many different types of activities.
