This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Customer and Product Data Bill

Administrative matters - Annual reporting by data holders and accredited requestors

113: Annual reporting by accredited requestors

You could also call this:

“Approved companies must tell the government what they did with people's information each year”

This new law would require accredited requestors to give a yearly report to the chief executive by 31 October each year. The report would cover what happened from 1 July to 30 June.

In the report, you would need to include a summary of any complaints made about how you handled regulated data services. You would also need to describe the goods or services you provide that are related to the regulated data services you request.

The law might also ask you to include other information in the report. If it does, this would be specified in the regulations.

You would need to follow any rules set out in the regulations about how to provide the report.
