Administrative matters - Chief executive’s functions

95: Chief executive’s functions

You could also call this:

“The chief executive makes sure data rules are followed and helps people understand them”

The chief executive has several important jobs under this law. You should know that they are in charge of making sure data services follow the rules. They do this by giving warnings, writing reports, and making guidelines about these services. They also approve people who can ask for data.

The chief executive sets standards for how things should work and keeps a list of important information. They watch to make sure everyone follows the rules and can investigate if someone might be breaking them. If someone does break the rules, the chief executive can take action against them.

Another part of their job is to help people understand why this law is important. They give information to customers, people who hold data, and those who are allowed to ask for it. They also work with other groups that help enforce rules about data services.

The chief executive needs to stay up to date with laws and practices about data services, even those from other countries. This helps them do their job better and make sure the rules are working well for everyone.
