Customer and Product Data Act 2025

Regulated data services - Main obligations - Product data

23: Data holder may refuse request for data in certain circumstances

You could also call this:

“Sometimes, people can say no to sharing your data if it might cause problems”

You can ask someone who holds data to give it to you. However, they may say no in certain situations. They can refuse if they think sharing the data might cause big problems for their computer systems or for the register where the data is kept. They can also say no if the rules say they’re allowed to in specific cases. These rules are written down in special documents called regulations or standards.
