Administrative matters - Information sharing

129: Conditions that may be imposed on providing information under this subpart

You could also call this:

“Rules for sharing information to keep people's details safe”

The chief executive can set rules when giving out information under this part of the law. When deciding on these rules, they need to think about how to protect people’s privacy.

The rules can cover different things. They might say you have to keep the information secret, especially if it’s about a person. The Privacy Act 2020 talks more about this kind of information.

The rules might also tell you how to store the information, how to use it, or who can see it. They could say what to do with copies of documents you get, like how to copy them, give them back, or get rid of them.

Lastly, the chief executive might make a rule about paying for the costs of giving out the information.
