This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Customer and Product Data Bill

Administrative matters - Register

117: Purposes of register

You could also call this:

“Why we have a list of data holders and requestors”

This part of the proposed law explains why there will be a register. The register will help you check if someone is a data holder or an accredited requestor. You’ll also be able to find out some information about these people or groups.

If you’re a data holder or an accredited requestor, you’ll be able to use the register to learn about each other. This could be helpful when you need to work together.

The register will also help people do their jobs properly when they’re working with this new law or other laws. It will give them the information they need to do their work correctly.

Remember, this is just a plan for a new law. It’s not in place yet, but it shows what the government wants to do to make information more available and easier to use.
