Regulatory and enforcement matters - Prohibition against holding out

61: Prohibition against holding out

You could also call this:

“Don't pretend you can ask for special information when you can't”

You must not pretend that you or someone else is an accredited requestor if they are not. An accredited requestor is someone who is officially allowed to ask for certain information.

You also must not claim that you or someone else can legally make specific requests or provide certain goods or services related to regulated data if that is not true. Regulated data is information that is controlled by special rules.

It’s important to be honest about what you or others are allowed to do when it comes to requesting or working with regulated data.
