Illustration for Customs and Excise Act 2018

When you arrive in New Zealand, you must report to a Customs officer or a Police station right away. You can choose to report to either a Customs officer or a Police station. You must stay at the place where you reported for as long as Customs needs to check you.

You will need to wait until a Customs officer has finished doing their job with you. This is so the Customs officer can do what they need to do under the Customs and Excise Act 2018. You can find more information about this by looking at s 27.
