303: Relationship between this Act and other law relating to information use and disclosure

You could also call this:

"This law doesn't override other laws that let you share information, so you can still share it if another law says you can."

Illustration for Customs and Excise Act 2018

This Act does not stop you using or sharing information if another law says you can or must do so. You can use or share information if another law allows or requires it. You can also use or share information if another law says it is permitted. Nothing in the information privacy principles in section 22 of the Privacy Act 2020 stops Customs from using or sharing personal information when they are doing their job under this Act. This means Customs can use or share personal information as needed to carry out their functions.
