Illustration for Customs and Excise Act 2018

The chief executive can ask the person in charge of a Customs-controlled area to do two things. You must account for goods that the chief executive thinks are in that area. You must also show documents that relate to goods moving in or out of that area. You will get a written notice telling you to do this, and you must do it right away. This is similar to what was in the Customs and Excise Act 1996.
