The chief executive can let a boat or plane leave New Zealand from a place that is not a Customs office. You need to know that the chief executive must talk to certain people before making this decision, including the Director-General of Biosecurity and the Commissioner of Police. The chief executive can also add conditions to this permission, such as what goods or people can be on the craft.

The chief executive has to consider who might be affected by their decision, and talk to those people before making it. This includes people in charge of other government departments that might be impacted. The chief executive can look at other laws, such as ss 25(1A), (1B), and 37(3), when making their decision.

The chief executive's permission can have conditions, like what you can take with you when you leave. This helps the chief executive make sure everything is okay before you leave New Zealand from a place that is not a Customs office. You can find more information about this by looking at the links to other laws.
