Illustration for Customs and Excise Act 2018

When a craft arrives at a Customs place in New Zealand, you must follow certain rules. You, as the owner or person in charge of the craft, must give Customs an inward report within a certain time, unless they say it is okay to do it differently. You must also do what Customs tells you about moving the craft or unloading goods and people.

The inward report must be given in a specific way, as decided by the chief executive's rules. You must also include any supporting documents that the chief executive thinks are necessary.

If you have already given some information to Customs under section 12(1) or (2)(b) or 14(2) or (5)(b), you do not need to include it in the inward report.
