400Infringement notices
A Customs officer may issue an infringement notice to a person if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person is committing, or has committed, an infringement offence.
An infringement notice may be revoked—
- by serving written notice on the person to whom the infringement notice was issued; and
- at any time before—
- the infringement fee is paid; or
- an order for payment of a fine is made or treated as having been made by a court under section 21 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957.
- the infringement fee is paid; or
