392Publications imported or exported in course of official duties
It is not an offence for the purposes of sections 388 to 390 for a New Zealand publications official to do the following for the purpose of, and in connection with, his or her official duties:
- import a publication (whether with the involvement of an overseas publications official or not):
- export a publication to an overseas official.
In this section,—
New Zealand publications official means a person referred to in section 131(4)(a) to (l) of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993
overseas publications official means a person in a country other than New Zealand who—
- holds an office in that country that corresponds to an office referred to in section 131(4)(a) to (1) of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993; and
- is carrying out the functions of that office
publication has the meaning given to that term in section 2 of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993.
- holds an office in that country that corresponds to an office referred to in section 131(4)(a) to (1) of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993; and
