If you stop a Customs Appeal Authority or someone they authorise from doing their job, you commit an offence. You also commit an offence if you do not follow a requirement or order from a Customs Appeal Authority without a good reason, as stated in clauses 21 and 22 of Schedule 8. This includes not following any conditions of an order made under these clauses.

If you break these rules, you can be fined up to $5,000 if you are found guilty. You must follow the rules and orders given by a Customs Appeal Authority or someone they authorise. This is to ensure that they can do their job properly, as outlined in the law.
