If you knowingly falsify records or information in a registered user system, you commit an offence. You also commit an offence if you knowingly damage or impair a registered user system.

If you damage or impair a computer system that holds information from a registered user system without the chief executive's permission, you commit an offence.

330Offence in relation to interference with registered user system

  1. A person commits an offence if the person—

  2. knowingly falsifies any record or information stored in a registered user system; or
    1. knowingly damages or impairs a registered user system; or
      1. without the permission of the chief executive, knowingly damages or impairs any computer system on which any information obtained from a registered user system is held or stored.
        1. A person who commits an offence under this section is liable on conviction to—

        2. imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years; or
          1. a fine not exceeding $25,000.
