A professional conduct committee can appoint a legal adviser to help them. You can think of a legal adviser as a person who knows a lot about the law and can give advice. The legal adviser can be at committee meetings and give advice on law, procedure, or evidence at any time.

The legal adviser has some limits on what they can do. They cannot be in the room when the committee is making decisions.

The committee can get help from the legal adviser, but the adviser cannot be part of the decision-making process.
