Social Workers Registration Board and Social Workers Disciplinary Tribunal - Social Workers Registration Board

109: Disciplinary levy

You could also call this:

"A fee social workers might have to pay to help cover the cost of dealing with discipline issues"

Illustration for Social Workers Registration Act 2003

The Social Workers Registration Board can impose a levy on every social worker from time to time. You will have to pay the amount the Board thinks is fair for investigating and dealing with discipline issues under this Act. The Board can decide to exempt some people from paying the levy, or waive or refund the levy.

The Board will give notice of the levy, and this notice is a type of secondary legislation, which has its own publication requirements, as outlined in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.

You should check the notice to see if you have to pay the levy, and if you are exempt or can get a refund.
