The Social Workers Registration Board makes a code of conduct that social workers must follow. This code says what social workers must do to be honest and have good conduct. You can think of it like a set of rules that social workers should follow to do their job well. The Board talks to organisations and people who represent social workers and their employers before making or changing the code of conduct. The code of conduct is a type of law called secondary legislation, which has its own rules for publication, as explained in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
