Illustration for Social Workers Registration Act 2003

When you apply to be a social worker, the Board makes a decision about your registration. If the Board says you can be registered because you meet the criteria in section 6, section 7, section 14, or section 15, you will be registered. The Registrar will add your details to the Register.

The Registrar will tell you that you are registered, what you are allowed to do as a social worker, and why there may be any conditions on your registration. If your registration is provisional or temporary, the Registrar will tell you this, how long it will last, and why the Board made this decision.

If the Board decides you should not be registered, the Registrar will tell you this and explain why. You will get this information promptly, so you know what is happening with your application.
