If a member of the Committee leaves, you need to fill the empty spot. The Leader of the Opposition must choose another member of the House of Representatives if the empty spot is for a member they nominated under section 194(2)(c). They must choose someone in the same way they chose the original member.

If the Prime Minister nominated the member who left, they get to choose the new member. If there are fewer than 6 members left on the Committee, the Prime Minister must choose another member of the House of Representatives, following the same rules as before, under section 194(2)(d). If there are still 6 members on the Committee, the Prime Minister can choose another member, following the same rules, under section 194(2)(d).
