The Director-General of an intelligence and security agency must keep a record of all certificates they issue under section 122(3), which is called a section 122 certificate. You can think of this record as a list that includes important details about each certificate. The Director-General must include the date the certificate was issued, the agency it was issued to, the information it relates to, and the circumstances in which it was issued.

The Director-General must make sure this record is available to certain people at any time. These people are the Minister responsible for the intelligence and security agency and the Inspector-General. They can access the record whenever they need to.

The record is an important tool for keeping track of section 122 certificates, which are issued under section 122 of the law.
