50Duty to act only as authorised

  1. The Director-General of an intelligence and security agency must take all reasonable steps to ensure that, in relation to the carrying out of an otherwise unlawful activity, the intelligence and security agency—

  2. acts only within the scope of an authorisation; and
    1. carries out only authorised activities; and
      1. exercises only powers necessary for carrying out authorised activities.
