Illustration for Intelligence and Security Act 2017

The chief executive can decide what happens to you if you are trying to board a commercial craft to travel to New Zealand and they have received some information about you under section 96(2). They can decide that you may board the craft, or you may not board the craft. The chief executive can also decide that you can board the craft, but only if you follow some conditions they set.

If the chief executive makes a decision about you, they must tell the person in charge of the commercial craft. You can read more about this in section 97 of the law. The chief executive has some special rules they must follow when making these decisions, and some other rules do not apply to them when they are giving notifications about their decisions.
