Illustration for Intelligence and Security Act 2017

The government can issue a special statement to guide both intelligence and security agencies. You can think of this statement like a set of instructions that tells these agencies what to do. If there are different ministers in charge of each agency, they must work together to issue this statement.

When different ministers are in charge, they must issue the statement together, and they must follow certain rules, like those outlined in sections 211 and 212. These rules help make sure everything runs smoothly. You can find more information about these rules by looking at the mentioned sections.
