When you apply for an intelligence warrant, it can have restrictions or conditions added to it. The Minister and a Commissioner of Intelligence Warrants can add these restrictions for a Type 1 warrant. They do this if they think it is desirable in the public interest.

For a Type 2 warrant, the Minister is the one who can add restrictions. They also do this if they think it is desirable in the public interest. You can find more information about this by looking at the Intelligence and Security Act 2017 and other related laws, such as the links to previous laws and other related links.
