138Permission to access restricted information granted on application made under section 136(2)(b)

  1. The responsible Minister may grant an application made under section 136(2)(b) and permit access to specified restricted information if the responsible Minister is satisfied that—

  2. access to the restricted information—
    1. is necessary to contribute to the protection of national security; or
      1. will contribute to—
        1. the international relations and well-being of New Zealand; or
          1. the economic well-being of New Zealand; and
        2. the further criteria in section 139 are met.
