Illustration for Intelligence and Security Act 2017

The Director-General of an intelligence and security agency has to go to a meeting with the Committee if they are asked to. You can think of the Director-General like the boss of the agency. The Committee is a group of people who help make sure the agency is doing its job correctly. The Committee can also ask other people to come to a meeting and answer questions or bring some documents to help with their work. When the Committee asks someone to come to a meeting or bring documents, they should give that person at least 5 working days' notice, so the person has time to get ready, this is like getting a notice to come to school on a certain day.
