Health Act 1956

Quarantine

96: Ships and aircraft liable to quarantine

You could also call this:

"Ships and planes from overseas or sick areas may have to quarantine in New Zealand"

If you are on a ship coming to New Zealand from another country, your ship may have to go into quarantine. This also applies if your ship is coming from a place in New Zealand where people are sick with a quarantinable disease. If someone on your ship is sick with a disease that could spread to others, your ship may have to go into quarantine too. You should know that the same rules apply to aircraft, so if you are on a plane coming to New Zealand from another country, your plane may have to go into quarantine. This also applies if your plane is coming from a place in New Zealand where people are sick with a quarantinable disease. There are some exceptions to these rules, which are outlined in regulations made under the Health Act 1956.
