Health Act 1956

Management of infectious diseases - Contact tracing

92ZZF: Contact tracer may require certain persons to provide information

You could also call this:

"People tracking infectious diseases can ask you for information to help keep others safe."

If you have been in contact with someone who has an infectious disease, a contact tracer may ask you for information. They want to know who you have been in contact with, so they can tell those people to be careful. The contact tracer can ask your employer, school, or any business you have dealt with for this information. You have to give the contact tracer the information they ask for, even if the Privacy Act 2020 says you do not have to. If someone asks you for information, you must give it to them and they will tell you it is for managing infectious diseases.
