Public Works Act 1981

Preliminary

4A: Powers of Minister of Lands

You could also call this:

“Minister of Lands can buy, manage, and sell land and equipment for government work”

The Minister of Lands has special powers to do certain things. These powers are in addition to any other powers the Minister already has from other laws.

You should know that the Minister can:

Buy land, buildings, or structures that the government needs for its work. The Minister can decide how much to pay for these things. After buying them, the Minister can look after them, make them better, or even sell them if needed.

The Minister can also buy or rent things like equipment, supplies, or machines that are needed to do the Minister’s job. When these things are no longer needed, or if it makes sense money-wise, the Minister can get rid of them.
